My background  

I started my career in academia and moved into adult education when my children were young. I have an MA in Creative Writing which has given me the skills to work as a copywriter and copyeditor, first for various government agencies and then for a range of global clients.

What I enjoy most about my work 

I love helping clients communicate their vision to the wider organisation; it’s exciting to be supporting high-performing teams with a variety of projects which aim to deliver efficiencies across the business. My role as a communications manager is challenging, creative and very satisfying.

My hope for the future 

Wealth can no longer be created at the expense of nature and future generations. I believe that ethical businesses like AG Comms can help to drive positive change by shifting the focus from relentless economic growth to sustainable practices that will hopefully lead to climate justice before it is too late.

What I love about AG Comms 

AG Comms demonstrates that it is possible to prioritise both people and the environment. Our flexible working practices are family-friendly, and by minimising the need for business travel, they enable us to lower our carbon emissions and minimize our contribution to the climate crisis. Clients benefit too, because we are responsive and flexible in meeting their needs, while providing our expertise at a cost fair to their budgets but most importantly the planet.

How does working for AG Comms support you? 

Like many people, I have responsibilities to my (multi-generational) family and my local community, while a healthy work-life balance is important to me. AG Comms not only supports but promotes flexible working, enabling me to earn a living alongside my other commitments and do so in a way which is environmentally responsible.

I feel so lucky: the team at AG is exceptionally vibrant, supportive and engaged, and I am always learning and developing new skills by working alongside people who are experts in their field.
