Nicola Breen
Operations Director

My background

I started my career in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the advertising industry as Media Assistant and then Media Planner/Buyer. A few years later I transitioned into the conference and events industry as Conference & Events Manager where I was responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery of corporate events, conferences, private functions and weddings.

In 2013, I relocated with my husband and two children to start a new adventure in Cheshire, England. I met Lynne at a chance meeting during our daughters' ballet class in 2014 and soon after I became a freelancer at AG, supporting internal communication projects and employee events. In 2016, I joined AG as an employee and became Operations Director in 2022.

My role is to make sure the day to day running of the business happens smoothly and our clients and team members have everything they need to create and increase their positive impact.

I am also a mentor for The Girls Network since 2022, and I am passionate about supporting young women in building confidence, pursuing their goals, and empowering them to succeed.

What I enjoy most about my work

I love the versatility of my role. I’m always looking for ways to improve sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint by implementing better systems and processes. Working virtually has been the perfect fit for me, allowing me to focus deeply without the usual office distractions – it’s hard to believe I ever managed without it!

Some of the companies I have worked with

Drambuie, Scottish Tourist Board, Royal Bank of Scotland, MOD, Jenners (Harrods of the North!), VELUX, AstraZeneca, Nuffield Health, Marriott, Hall Advertising (part of Saatchi & Saatchi), Carat UK, ScotRail and Kwik Fit

My hope for the future

My hope for the future is that more businesses take accountability and recognise the importance of acting responsibly towards the environment, society, and good governance (ESG). By doing so, they can contribute to a better, more sustainable world while setting themselves up for success and making choices that benefit both people and the planet.

What I love about AG Comms

What I love about AG is the sense of belonging – it feels more like being part of a family than just a workplace. I feel valued and proud to be part of the team. Working alongside a diverse and talented team that values growth, inclusivity, and transparency is truly rewarding. We support each other’s development, recognise achievements, and encourage to do what’s right. This creates a unique and positive work environment where we continue to grow, make a meaningful impact on our personal journeys, and strive to be a force for good – for both people and the planet. AG is truly something special!

How does working for AG Comms support you?

As an employee, I’m grateful for the trust and autonomy I have in managing my responsibilities, as well as the flexibility to balance work and family. Working in this environment allows me to grow both personally and professionally. I also am very grateful to gain the knowledge and understanding of the AG’s vision and purpose which has helped me in my own personal journey and focus for my family and future generations.
