My background
I started life as a reporter before morphing into writing and editing regional employee publications. Broader communications and editorial work followed with particular emphasis on learning & development, diversity & belonging, change/culture, and national public awareness campaigns. I’ve collaborated extensively with designers, photographers and AV professionals along the way.
What I enjoy most about my work
I love turning technical-speak into meaningful messages. To use the written and spoken word to simplify, inspire and foster pride. As a journalist and storyteller I’m excited to find hidden gems in interviews and ‘treasure troves’ of documents. Bringing consistent messages builds engagement, and I enjoy securing continuity - never throwing the baby out with the bathwater – whilst allowing for new perspectives and learnings. I love recognising employee achievements and helping teams embrace new technology and ways of working.
Some of the companies I have worked with
AstraZeneca, Syngenta, Environment Agency, the APEM Group, British Gas, Transco, The University of Manchester, Wilko, NHS, JobCentrePlus
My hope for the future
I hope step by step, many more small and large organisations fully embrace good for people and planet. AG promotes sustainable practices which are helping companies climb out of tired comfort zones into energised positive visions. And in a world that needs us to be proactive and confident I find this direct commitment to change really uplifting! My hope is that business models will evolve to offer the greatest tangible support to our communities and countries towards greater climate equity and security.
What I love about AG Comms
I love how AG soars above corporate chatter to bring objectivity and clarity. That we always strive to be and do our best to help companies be their best. Each time I connect with fellow AG-ers there’s an opportunity to share and grow. We don’t let ourselves be defined beyond a desire to offer quality, honest reflection and loyal support. And I love how we harmonise as a team to seamlessly blend our skillsets. It’s affirming to be part of a collective that genuinely cares about our impact on the world and humanity.
How does working for AG Comms support you?
The AG model empowers me to work while supporting elderly family members, and pursuing hobbies and voluntary work. I appreciate the AG culture of caring, which means we instinctively support each other to pull things out of the bag with minimal fuss and maximum efficiency!
